Andrew Jackson Frey
Andrew Jackson Frey was born around 1820 in Tennessee to Peter Frey and Sarah Binkley. His father was a farmer who owned $500 of real estate in 1850. Frey worked as a carpenter, and lived in his parents’ household in Montgomery County, Tennessee until at least 1850. He married Julia Ann Bernard in Robertson County, Tennessee, on February 13, 1852, and they had at least five children: William, born around 1853; Madora, born around 1857; Ellen, born around 1858; John, born around 1862; and Ida, born around 1864. The family moved to Spring Garden, Illinois, in the mid-1850s, and by 1860, they owned $400 of real estate and $200 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $900 of real estate and $425 of personal property, and Frey was working as a farmer. He died sometime after 1880.
