Deborah O. Tucker to Lillian M. Tucker, undated
Thursday Morning

Dear Lillie
It seems a long while since I wrote you but cant tell when. I rec'd [?] cards in regard to Melia's death. How glad I am you wrote them, but how sad that she had to leave those dear girls just when they need a mother most. I wonder how it will be at their Uncles, have you ever seen them. When do they go. Lill I've been thinking how I'd enjoy having the girls come & see me in there vacation, as of course they / will attend school. Its only a few hours ride from Detroit here. And if Lill can make it convenient to come wouldn't it be fine you could visit in Hend[?] at Aunt Kate's thats only a little ways from us. I've looked for Aunt Kate here this month but haven't heard from her. Minnie her youngest daughter that was married last fall, has a little boy. Her husband wrote me a few days afterwards of its arrival, Hurrahed for "Blaine & Logan", & said "tell Bray" go thou & do likewise". I've had to do something this morning that cost me a struggle. I had a / letter from Mrs. Wilcox, Fannie & Etta's Mother saying she would like to come & see me, or I come at her sisters & see her. Well I cant go there, & I do not feel free to have her come here. I've always thought so much of going there, & it would do me so much good to see her from home you know but I do not feel as though I ought to, & it nearly takes my heart. If I was only by myself how glad I'd be, if I didn't have but one more Het is in Eaton Rapids & wrote she wanted to come, & I wrote for her to come, so will look for her the last of the week. I dont care whether they like it or not I'll have she & Aunt / Kate come. I looked for Father out the middle of the month, but it was so hot & dry, he did not feel well enough, but will look for him in Oct. sure. Kate wrote she was going to the County Fair & visit some while there. They have had the feather beds renovated & pillows she said it was a downy time Bray & I went & heard "Uncle Toms Cabin" played a short time ago. It was splendid each one played their part to perfection & such good music. I didn't hear better in Grand Rapids. When did Jim Miller visit in Michigan
