Dear brother
I recd your letter this morning and to hear that you were better and that the rest were well I am a little better better than I was in fact I am much better than when I first came here and that is a good sign please do not mention any thing about a discharge for I cant get one or I would have had it and as to furloughs they are played out at present I just consider myself as fit for service as Jim Mcfarland he did not /
I think Evan Horner is a prety speciman of human nature for any woman to mary I think she must have wanted a man bad I would like to attend one of uncle Jimy prayer metings once more just for a change I would like to get to see Jim McKee before he leaves for home again give my love the weather has been so bad since I have been that I could not get down to town to hunt Manazer up the first good day I will go down and hunt / him up. I recd the one dollar you sent me in the letter and am very thankful for it well I have nothing mor of any importance to write so I will bring my letter to a close
Give my love to Uncle thany Aunt Nancy also to John and Ike and to our friends and neighbors no more at present
