Eliza B. Shepard
Eliza B. Shepard (maiden name: Burns) was born on September 9, 1797, in New Hampshire, to Thomas and Nancy Burns. She probably grew up in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. She married John W. Shepard on June 10, 1817, and they had at least five children: Ann, born around 1824; Sewell, born around 1832; Edward, born around 1835; Luther, born around 1838; and Aaron, born around 1841. They lived in Maine for several years before settling in Nashua, New Hampshire. Her husband worked as a minister, and by 1850, they owned $2,400 of real estate. Her husband died on May 25, 1860, and she remained in Nashua with her children. By 1860, she owned $4,000 of real estate and $200 of personal property. She died in Nashua on August 7, 1876.
