Maria L. Mack (maiden name: Burns) was born on October 22, 1795, in New Hampshire to Thomas and Nancy Mack. She probably grew up in Gilmanton, New Hampshire, and she married Andrew Mack on January 13, 1824. They had at least two children: Maria, born around 1835; and Anna, born around 1838. They lived in Gilmanton, and her husband worked as a teacher. By 1850, they owned $6,000 of real estate. Their daughter Anna lived with them until at least 1870, along with Anna’s children Maria and William. By 1870, the family owned $7,000 of real estate and $3,000 of personal property. Her husband died on June 16, 1875. By 1880, she was living with her grandson William in Gilmanton. She died there of old age on November 26, 1891.
