Dear Wife                                                                                           
I seat myselfe a few moments to Inclose you a few lines to inform you off my leanth I am well at this time and I do hope when this comes to hand it may find you in the enjoyment of the same like blessing I received your letters yesturday evening and was truly glad to hear that you are all well with the exception of ginea head but you say she is nearly well I have nothing of much importance to relate at this preasent time we are still in our same old camp passing off the winter as well as could be expected although the winter has been rite hard in this region of country a verry wet and snowey in this region as much so as we have it in the valley I have been just informed that Doctor Walls is a going to leave guinea station by too O clock in the / morning for Newtown and now I think I have as good a chance to send you some mony as I ever expect to have and I think I willsend you sixty Dollars. I think that will do you some time untill I can get another chance to send you some more we will be paid off in a few days again and I will be pretty flush of money again for I am never without Confederate notes I make as high as six and eight dollars a day, or part of a day, and my little pile grows every other day, considerably, and I expect it will continue so and I hope this war will soon be over and I may have money enough to by us a little home be as saving as you can I nead not tell you to be saving for I know you will be we have very favourable news about the western states and I think in a few months we will have purmanent peace Sarah I shall now have to close by saying give my love to the children / to all of my friends and acquaintances I must stop writing for the preasent and ever remain your affectionate Husband
until death do us part
 
So goodby write soon as you receive this and give me all the knews so no more at preasent but remain yours
