Dear wife i thot that i wood right you a few lines let you know that i hav not had time to right to you be fore Dear honey i am sory that you think i dont think eny thing of you for i do you know that i do Dear honey i felt bad to hear those lines Dear wife if i ever live to get home a gain you wil see a difrant man of me Dear wife you shal have those tools as soon as i get my bounty if i hadant let John have them i codant got back & if i hadant got back i / shod ben cort marcheld 3 of our men is a going to cort marcheld for being late Dwife Dear wife i dont want you to move a way Dear honey if i shod hapen to get discharged how cod i find you Dear honey it wood cil me dead to hear of your moving a way. Dear honey dont you go down to Marias i shold think i had lost my best friend O honey you dont know how bad i do feel i cant help to think of your last letter honey i think the world of you Dear honey i rather you had work in sum smal famley then to go away. 
 
Dear wife if the things are 2 much are trubel to you sel them of all but what you want ceep the clothing if i live i wil try & have money a nuf to by more & better wones to Dear honey i havent slep for 3 nights that letter that you rote make makes me fel bad i didant use you as i ought to have don i am sorry when i got strait i thot of it my Dear wife dont feel bad if you feel as i do you feel very bad indead Dear honey dont wory a bout them tools for you shal have them soon i cant think of eny mor at presant /
 
for i have got to go on garde in a little while honey ceep up good corge dont feel bad
 
stay at home for i shal be back soon i dont know when we are a going a way good by dear honey
