Susan B. Greene (maiden name: Robinson) was born on July 2, 1812, in Deerfield, New Hampshire, to John Robinson. Her father was a farmer who owned $3,000 of real estate by 1850. She married William B. Greene on February 9, 1841, and they had at least two children: William, born on September 27, 1843; and Marlon, born on April 24, 1845. They lived in Raymond, New Hampshire, and her husband died of consumption on June 30, 1850.
After her husband’s death, she returned to her father’s household in Deerfield. She eventually returned to Raymond, and she earned a living as a “domestic.” By 1860, she owned $1,000 of real estate and $250 of personal property. A decade later, she owned $2,000 of real estate and $100 of personal property. She died of “marasmus” and “age” in Raymond on October 4, 1904.
