Sarah Denny
Sarah Denny (maiden name: Gordon) was born on December 5, 1817, in Indiana. She married Morris Thomas Denny on February 19, 1846, and they had at least five children: Hannah, born around 1848; Diana, born around 1848; Clayton, born around 1851; John, born around 1855; and Francis, born around 1858.
 
They lived in Washington County, Indiana, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1860, they owned $1,000 of real estate and $450 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $1,200 of real estate and $7,500 of personal property. Her husband died on February 24, 1896, and she died of “senility” in Washington, Indiana, on April 15, 1912.
