Francis J. Parker to Anna L. Parker, 15 September 186X
Monday Morning, Sept 15.
We were ordered to start at 3 A.M. today but could not get rations and therefore are yet here at Frederick on the bank of the Monocracy.
The firing to the west is not so loud or rapid. We hear many reports of successes but believe nothing
Dr Fred stands by me as I write & has kindly ministered to my corporeal wants by sending me some chicken & whiskey
Give my love to Frank & Clara & say that I have so little opportunity to write that that time is due to you. Kiss the baby & love to the big children
Affy Yours
Frank J Parker
