Sarah Percival Gray
Sarah Percival Gray was born on August 29, 1847, in Wythe County, Virginia, to Thomas and Sarah Gray. Her father was a farmer who owned $2,000 of real estate and $500 of personal property by 1860. She grew up and attended school in Wythe County. Her father died in 1869, and by 1880, she was living in her brother Emory’s household in Speedwell, Virginia.
 
She married William Franklin Rosenbaum in the early 1880s, and they had at least two children: Ellis, born around 1885; and Sophia, born around 1886. They lived in Speedwell, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1910, they were living in Honley, Virginia. Her husband died in the 1910s, and she passed away of “senility” in Cripple Creek, Virginia, on March 28, 1926.
