Dear Niece
                        I now take my pen to answer your letter dated August 26th I received it friday last; we was glad to hear that you ware all well. we got Saturday morning five oclock Aaron Wood died & was beried yesterday at the center of bristol he sufered beyond expression before he died
 
you wrote your Father & Mother would be down by the fifteenth or twentieth We will look for you them by that time Jane will go with them to astabula Co if we are all well at that time Lettitia is complaining / of her throat being sore to day it looks sore but ihope it wont be the real sore throat
 
Jane said she liked the offer you made her but we harvested so long that she thought it not worth while to send after you & we have not got done yet two days more will finish us. we had this day set to put up the rest of Letties hay on the old place but it raind the first good day the neighbors will turn out & put it up. it is most ten oclock & i must stop; James Lines & Nelson Mcibee has gon to the army & Prudence & Lisabeth Mcibees husbands are gon too / I have got to old to be on the malitia role iwas 48 last July
