Orlando C. Geer to Harriet C. Geer, 8 March 1864
Ringgold Ga. March 8th 1864

My Darling Sister.
I have finally heard from you I had began to think you had not received my letters and I was pleased to hear from you and to find all my friends enjoying peaceable times.

Untill Mrs Keller returns you may expect to have quiet and harmony in the lovely streets of long faded Miami. I am glad you got the music I want you should get the back Nos and / continue to get each succeeding No. And remember your promise about going up town to school. dont forget you are gradualy getting older and you are losing the best part of your days in a few years you will want to get married and you will need all the education you can get but mind dont you nor Frank get married till I get home for you know I never was to a wedding But that will do of that Mind and go to school like a good little girl. As long as the firm of Olegar and Father is all right you neednt fear about the expenses. Tell Amos he neednt send any tobacco just yet. I got the box and everything all right Your letter of Oct 9th was full of news. Sophs baby 'n / Mrs. Keller and Jake Randall and other news too numerous to mention. Dont for the love of Heaven put the word Keller in a letter you send to me. I detest the name I love everything else but Keller. So please dont do it again if you love your Bro. O. We will remain no doubt till we move, which wont be very long. My love to all my friends if perchance I have any Tell Mrs Pitchin if she puts Frank up to serve me as ould marm Keller did I will let her put all the foul eggs on her she wants &c. I would like to write a decent letter but my eyes refuse to allow me to trace the lines I have to feel 'em they are pretty bad I have done no duty since we came here. Now Hatty if you love your bro write as soon as circumstances will permit
