John W. McClure
John W. McClure was born in Pennsylvania. By the early 1860s, he was living in New York. On October 21, 1862, he received a commission as a captain and assistant quartermaster in the Union army. He earned a promotion to major on March 13, 1865, and he mustered out on June 20, 1865.
