Mary Wyman
Mary Wyman (maiden name unknown) was born around 1830 in Maine. She married Joseph Wyman, and their daughter Ada was born around 1854. They lived in Freeport, Maine, and her husband worked as a farm laborer. By 1860, they owned $250 of real estate and $100 of personal property. Joseph enlisted in the Union army in December 1861, and he died of disease on July 29, 1864. Mary applied for a federal pension in October 1864 and eventually secured one. She remained in Freeport after her husband’s death, and by 1870, she owned $300 of real estate and $100 of personal property. By 1880, she was living in her daughter Ada’s household in Freeport. She died on October 14, 1886.
