I write to let you no that I am well to day and I thank God for his kind care over me I recived tow letters from you one dated 11 of Dec and one the 18 I was glad to hear from you and Ada. S. that sweete girl I love so well. I hope the time is not far disant when I shall come home to stay with you I shall prase God for his kind care over me when I git home Mary B. we have fard vary hard scense we have ben in Texas. Mary it is of no use to rite my trilearls nord trubels to you to worrey about. no it is a week minded man that will duwit. I have suferd more with the cold hear then I ever did in maine. it hase ben vary cold hear I can tell you but it warm agane hear the corn is ten inchs hie ouar liveng is vary poor sense we / have ben in the feald I have to pay about 2,00 a week for extyes to eate. if I did not I shud die with the scurve. I dow git along as paceant as I can. I have sent some muny twise to you and have not herd from it once from New Orleans 10,00 dollars and once from Texes 15,00 dollars and when I am paid agane I will send home 25,00 to you. I love you deley Mary B. I drump the orther night that I gut home and you huge me so hard that I wake up kissing you. and now I will send kissis withou number to you and Ada S. Wyman. tell Ada that it want but nine month before I shall be to home if noething hapuns. Charles has enlisted agane and James Banks. tha is all of the Freeport boys. the Reg has to thurde enlisted and will come home soon but we that dont enlisted will have to stay till ouar time is out and then we will come home to stay not / to go back. to stay three years longer it is just the place for Charles. muney is no temttation to me Mary B. I love my home to much to enlisted for three years longer. no. I wood not stay three years for all unkle Sam bounty. I love my wife and daughter dear. Mary B. wate pacent for me to come home. Mary God is pacent and so is the Savour is to I send my love to Ada S. sweete one. this is from your husband true hearted
