Elizabeth Card was born around 1821 in New York to Elijah and Amanda Card. Her father died of apoplexy in 1850. The family lived in Dryden, New York, and by 1850, they owned $700 of personal property. By 1870, she was working as a “tailoress” in Dryden and living with her sister and brother-in-law, Maria and John Schutt. She remained there until at least 1880. She died on April 25, 1901.
