            Dear Sister.
Your letter has just reached me and I hasten to answer it.

My health is about the same it was when I last wrote and my wounds heal very slowly. We have some very cold weather and snow four inches deep

the five Dollars you sent came through safe and I was glad to get it

Dr Palmer is the head sergt of this hospital /

I saw Dr Goodyears in washing he was in the armory square Hospital several times But I do not know where he stays

Our fare is very limited here in quality wee get Bread and coffee for Breakfast and coffee and Bread for dinner and then have it warmed up for supper

I have plenty of good clothes and can get more if I want them

I would like to know if frank Miller has got home Pleas let me know if Birt got them clothes that I sent home I will now try to describe this place to you / It is surrounded by a fence 12 feet high and guards outside and inside of that so you may know that it would be hard to get out wee get a pass once in 12 days and that only for 3 hours there is about 1.000 of us here wee are in Barracks that you would think not fit for a cow stable

I will now close for the present hoping to hear from you as soon as convenient
