Lydia Ann Wright was born on February 11, 1834, in Plympton, Massachusetts, to Winslow Wright and Mary Cole. Her father was a farmer who owned $1,500 of real estate and $400 of personal property by 1860. She grew up and attended school in Plympton. She never married, and she lived with her parents in Plympton until at least 1880. Her parents died in the early 1880s, and by 1900, she was living with her sister Mary in Plymouth, Massachusetts. She died of “chronic Bright’s disease” in Springfield, Massachusetts, on December 17, 1907.
