Mary Wright (maiden name: Cole) was born on November 20, 1803, in Plympton, Massachusetts, to Samuel Cole. She married Winslow Wright on October 15, 1827, and they had at least ten children: Mary, born around 1828; Winslow, born around 1830; John, born around 1832; Lydia, born around 1834; Nathaniel, born around 1835; Abby, born around 1837; William, born around 1840; Samuel, born around 1842; Charles, born around 1845; and Martha, born around 1848.
They lived in Plympton, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1850, they owned $2,000 of real estate. A decade later, they owned $1,500 of real estate and $400 of personal property, and by 1870, their wealth had increased to $3,000 of real estate and $500 of personal property. Her husband died on June 20, 1882, and she passed away of “paralisis [sic]” in Plympton on November 27, 1883.
