Mary Jane Boston (maiden name: Elliott) was born on March 24, 1830, in Ohio. She married John W. They lived in Pleasant, Ohio, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1860, they owned $450 of real estate and $134 of personal property. A decade later, they owned $1,200 of real estate and $250 of personal property. They moved to Deshler, Ohio, in the 1870s, and then to Hartford City, Indiana, around 1896. She fell ill in the late 1800s, and she was reportedly “confined to her home” for the final fifteen years of her life. She died in Hartford City on November 7, 1910.
