Dicy Rebecca Ashlin
Dicy Rebecca Ashlin was around 1839 in Tennessee to John Ashlin and Margaret McDowell. Her father was a farmer. She probably grew up in Tennessee before moving to Texas by the 1860s. She married Washington P. Fortson on July 2, 1865, and they had at least two children: Pettie, born around 1867; and Hortense, born around 1869. They lived in De Soto, Louisiana, and her husband worked as an engineer. By 1870, they owned $300 of real estate and $2,500 of personal property. She probably died in the 1870s.
