My Dear sister
                        your of the 29th is at hand and I have just seated My self to answer it I am as well as usual—and have just return from Drill the Ground is geten a Alittle dryer. so we have to Drill Alittle. and I am Glad of it for Drilling is good for our health—at least I think it is—I think that in 2 or 3 weeks from this day that you will be oblige to Direct your letters to Bull run Virginia. for we got orders last/Friday to be in radyness to march in A moment Notice. and every other regiment Around here are under the same orders. we are About one houndred 100 and twenty five 25 thousends 125000 soldiers which I think will March in Bull Run at once. all that we are wateing for now is for the Roads to Dry so the Artiley can get through and if it dont rain between now and 10 day from now you will hear of our being in Bull Run that is the hardes place that we have got to take—but it must be taken and we have got to take it to that is the 22d Regt. as got to take halfe to take it—and that is just what I want—Elisa when I say that I wish we would have A Battle I want you to know that I say just what I think—and I think that I shall see Bull run before long we shall probly get/our pay once more here for it is most pay day—and then we shall march on tworth Bull Run—which you may Depend on it. it will be A happy time to me and hard to but never mind it is all to safe our country. if we take Bull run and I can get out all safe it will be all right—and if I happen to get A blue pill through me it will be all right and it is all right any way.—every regiment Around here as sand all thir cloth to Alexendria except what they want to ware. So you can see that it looks some like fighting and that is just what pleases me—and many others—Elisa you sad that the most of the Girls will not get Married untill the soldiers gets back home I hope they will keep thir words and if I ever get back North/Again I will asure you that one of the Northern Girl can have me very soon if they want me for I have given up my old Niger Winch intirely and I have nothing to do with her any more so if you know of any ladys that wants A husband Just speak A good word for me if you do have to Streatch the trueth Alittle it will do no harm in time of War.—Elisa I got Aletter from John last week and he sad that he was in Booneville yet and he thought that he sould stay there untill he got his Discharge as my paper is geten short I shall have to close please write soon from your Brother with affection
