Eliza Aubin was born on April 3, 1836, in Canada to Francois Aubin and Adelaide Poudret dit Lavigne. The family immigrated to New York around 1850, and her father worked as a laborer. She married Moses Dudley, and they had at least three children: Eveline, born around 1868; Harriet, born around 1870; and Joseph, born around 1872. Her daughter Harriet probably died in the early 1870s. The family lived in Greenwich, New York, and Moses worked in a grist mill. Her husband died around 1880. By 1900, Eliza was living with her son Joseph and earning a living as a washerwoman. She died in New York on September 5, 1903.
