                                                            FrederickBurg VA. July 31th 62
 
Dear Sister E.
                        yours of the 27th inst. is at hand and in reply I can Say that I am injoying good Health. and in good Curage. we have not had any marching to do since I wrote to you last and I Dont think we will have March to Do for 2 or 3 Month to come. I recivd A Letter from John last friday he sad that he was well and his Regiment still remain at Warrenton City.
 
Eliza we got our pay yesterday and I sant $23.00 twenty three Dollars to the Glens Falls Banker at Fathers Name the Captin/got a Draft and we all sant our money together and I think I will sand my money in that way every time only I will sand it to your Name instid of Father for then the money will Be safe and it will make you no trobble for you can Draw it any time when you pleases.
 
Elisa if Father is not to the falls you Nead not trobble yourself for the $23,00 I sand him for he can draw it any time when he goes there and if he dont go there before my time is out I will draw it myself for it is to my name as well as his.

as I have been writeing to Elisa and I am still seated raddy to write I thought I would pen you A line or two. you inquire of my little pulet if I had seen her lately. No I have not seen her for quite A while. for But I expect to see her next Sunday for I have got the promise of A pass to go out in the Country. I and my old friend Mr Columbous of the 24 Regt. and we expect to have A goly old time for peaches peaches is most all ripe and there is A grate many of them here./
 
I have no more to say at present. exsept I am Agoing to the theatre to Night. I will Now close by asking you to answer this soon, from your Brother
