Adelson Simon
Adelson Simon was born on July 20, 1851, in Providence, Rhode Island, to Henry Simon and Catherine Roux. His father was a jeweler who owned $6,400 of real estate by 1860. His father served as a captain in the Union army, and he died on October 6, 1864. Simon grew up and attended school in Providence before beginning work as a carpenter. He remained in his mother’s household until at least 1880. He eventually moved to North Attleborough, Massachusetts, and he died there in 1925.
