Ever Dear Sister
Your Note of 31st ult it had ben some time since I had a leter from you before but it is beter late than never I am well and hope these few lines will find you the Same there is not much news here to write there is some Cannonadeing to be hurd to day up the river Further I have just had a nap and now I will try and finish my leter well we wer on picket last night yesterday So when we came in last night we had a hen and a hole heap of greens we came a crost an old Secessionist and so we played the doos with/him he was as rich as a Jew an old bach; any way we had a Good Meel on his expence you Spoke of your going over two Laws.—I wold not mind if I was there to go with you. you Spoke of George Millay I dont know any thing about him olny what I hear by leter as Anna dont praise him up very Smart I Shold like to See him and you also Can you send me another picture Please Everett caryed of the one you sent me before and I have not Seen him since well I dont know what to write I have lost my thinking Cap how does George Stearns get a long wonder if his mother and Old robbins think I get them in trouble and coax them of well I dont See what has got into roscoe acting So he never writes/have they ever talked about you Since last sumer. (Eliza & Miss Stearns and Miss Robbins) well Super is ready and I must bring my leter to a Close that cannonadeing has ben going further and further and now it cant be hurd we dont know where it is. but I understand that Genral Ames is ingaged up here the Colnel of our Reg (or at least the one that are to be) I will close by Wishing you good luck

Well Zeru when I get to writeing I hate to Stop, how are they geting a long with Farming this spring it has ben a very late spring out here So the Civilions Say. there is some Cheryes ripe & Straw beryes are ripe I saw a peace of potatows yesterday blowed out handsome I tell you this wold be a buly place to Live if it want for the war. black there is a going to be any quanity of blackberyes this sumer they are blown out full. Peaches any quanity the trees are hanging full we Shall have gay old times by and by We (Aaron and I) had a prety good Super [?] Eggs We are bound Not to Starve as long as we have a cent AET
[margin] I cent my Miniture up to Lucy the other day told her to give the other one to Hat or this one to take her chois, she chose to keep the furst one, this one was to black I Guess when I get a chance I will send one home
