                                                Dear Mother
                                    I will write a few lines to let you know that I am Still alive and well I was in the batle yesterday the 2 we had a hard fight our rig fought a hole brigade I cannot Stop to write much this time Aaron & Lewis & all of the union boys is well they wer fighting like right Smart yesterday we had good Success yesterday if the reports are true. our rig took about 200 prisoners when we was in. I dont know/the rest of the brigade & army done the report is we took about 20,000 prisoners yesterday I will close now because I want this to go out in this morning I will write a gan soon
