Ever Dear Mother
I seat myself with pleasure to pen a few lines hoping they may find you injoying good health and injoying life. give my Love to the children. I hope this may find them all well
I am having very good Success here—much better than I had at Augusta—it is offull dull here. there is not so much going on here as there was at A- but I manage by trying hard to content myself but it is a prety hard task some times. after being in a place two or three days I get offull uneasy I dont think I cold content myself around here aney how—I have not bin to Dexter yet—am going to ask for a/furlough next week. I want to go up there offully. think I can get away next week..—after I got to Augusta I sent Some of my money to the boys to the regt they wanted I should as they have not bin payed of.. and I have Spaired myself Short..I do not like to ask you to let me have money, but if you cold let me have a little untill I am payed of (if you have it) you wold oblige me very much and I will try and Satisfy you if you cold let me have a little I wold like it as soon as you cold send it to me—I wold like to have it before going to dexter
I am boarding with Mrs Trundy—live well and have a good bed to sleep in She does my washing and what little repairing my clothes nead—She is a fine woman—Rhoda is married—her man is a soldier in the Vetran Reserve Corps—I shall try and get home as soon as I can
