Ever, Dear, Sister Laura
I take this opertunity to pencil you a few lines to let you know that I am well fat lazy but not lousy as many are. I received a letter from you several weeks ago but I have been negligent in not answering it. I want you to write often if you dont write more than two lines and I will try and do better in answering them. We are in winter quarters now and I live high for I had a Box that Lucy & Jo sent me it would hold as much as 3 bushels and in the middle of it they put a stuffed Turkey/and Albert came over and we had a grand dinner and a fine supper and I filled his haversack for him to take back with him since then I have been to see him and got some saucige to eat that came from home I have not had a letter from home vary lately but the last one I had they were well write soon
