Dear, Mother
I take this Early Opertunity to pencil you a few lines to let you know that I am well & unharmed at present although I have been through an 8 days fight I am some weary and have had a hard time but I am thankful that I have been spared we have gained a complete victory so far & I hope we shall continue yesterday was the hardist days fighting that Ever was known we took manny prisoners & a General I have not herd from Albert since we commenced the fight/
Business is urgent to day therefore I must close
