Mrs. Sinny Nevitt.
My Dear Wife it is with much pleasure I again Assume my pen for the purpious of writing you a line or two to let you know that I am Still on the land of the liveing and Enjoying the very best of health but I am very anctious to hear from you again I have only had two letters from you in the last month and I am shure that you write at the very least once a week you said you would and I believe you doo I know I doo when I posibly can and more too when we are in a Camp/
Well Sinny we are ready to Start for Some plase and I dont know yet where the place is we was ready to start early this morning but we are still hear and are waiting for further Orders and I think the Orders will be up the river but I hope it will be down unless it is up the river to Iowa the 8th and 12th started for Iowa yesterday I guess they will have a good time just such a time as I would have if I could get to come home on a Furlough but if I and we all live we will have some good times yet wont we Sinny. I wish I was there tonight we would have a nice time or I am baly fooled well I am in hopes the war will soon Close/
Sinny I want you to keep one of them Photographs the one you like best and give the Other one to Elizabeth Huff I promesed her one when I first Enlisted and I thought I would give her one of them Photographs I wanto send one to my Sister Susan and Father well Sinny I would like for you to me yours and the Children pictures taken and Send them to me go to muscatine and get them taken you can get better ones there than John kick took for you he is a poor hand to take picktures. well Sinny it is now after dark and we are still here I heared a little while a go that the 8th and 12th is still at the river I heared that they had to go with us before they can go up home/
Well Sinny I will quit till in the morning it may be that there will be something new by that time good night may god bless you and the Children is my sincere prayer a kiss to you and them till I can come home then I will make it all right

We are all right today we are now going to Start for Some place now Soon I will tell you in a day or two where we are going it is raining today but we only have a little piece to go to the river then we will go on board of a boat good bye may the god of the univese Ever bless you all give my love to all the friends reserveing a large portion for you and the Children yours as ever J. H. Nev.
