Dear Father & Mother,

I received your letter last Sunday after we came in from a three days raid around White Oak Swamp and as far as the Chickahominy. We (Our Div.) did not meet any force untill we came to the Chickahominy where the Rebs had batteries planted and so we did not try to cross as we had no Artilery. But I cannot tell you about the raid this time as we have just received Orders to leave at five Oclock in the morning with three days rations and forage.

I am happy to say I am well. Closing with my love to all.

                                                                                                Your Affect. Son,
                                                                                                            Geo. Booth

P. S. I forgot to say that I sent a memorial and will send an other.
                                                                                                            Geo. Booth
