Thomas S. Trigg was born around April 1817 in Hampton Station, Tennessee. He got married around the early 1840s, and he had at least two children: Charles, born around 1842; and Mary, born around 1843. His wife died around 1844, and he married Elizabeth Metcalf on April 17, 1845. They had at least six children: Sally, born around 1846; Elizabeth, born around 1849; Ella, born around 1853; James, born around 1857; Mattie, born around 1859; and Lela, born around 1862.
They lived in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and Trigg worked as a farmer and schoolteacher. By 1870, he owned $8,000 of real estate and $1,200 of personal property. His wife died in 1881. He died of “pneumonia and bronchitis” in Montgomery County on December 17, 1897.
