Dear Father & Mother
I received your letter a week ago and this is my first chance to answer it. I have not herd from the Boys yet but I suppose you have. I was glad to hear Father was going to cary on business for himself and I hope he will get along better than he did by the days work. I was not a bit surprised to hear about Thurston for he was mean enough for any thing. the first chance I have I will send Charley my picture but I will not be able to go to Norfolk as often as I could when I was at the Bridge.
Well here I am again with the company I think it was on the 22nd of Oct. that we were relieved at G. Bridge Lieut Horr the A. Prov.
