Dear Friends at
Home I now take my pen in hand to answer your letter which I received last Saturday night I received a letter from Byron the same time Uncles Folkes wear all well as usual mother you wanted to know if I was as well as I was before I was sick yeas I am I have just wrote a letter to Byron mother you said that you had writen a long letter to me that I never have got no I have not got it for I beleave I / Wrote 3 letters to you since I have got eny I wish you would write a little oftner then you do
when we was at Alexendria mike got reduced to the rank for getting drunk dont you tell his wife that I said he got drunk for she will write back to him mother I lik your new dress very well it was very cheap I should think we have not got eny large tents yet we suffer with the cold some it rained yestday all day long & a cool rain to it was it came out quite warm & pleasant this morning We have a good meny cold windey days out here we ar a going to have a / Battalion drill this afternoon so I cannot write much more in this letter I have writen all I can think of write soon
