Dear Father & Mother
I now take my pen in hand to let you know that I am all right we started from Fridricksburge yestday in carewan went to bell plane Landing took the boat thear last night a bout dark got here a bout 12 o clock in the night Im feeling prety well now have had my wound dressed this is a very nice Hospitall every thing has to look just so nice I wrote you a letter yesterday before we started from Fredricksburge didnt have much time to write for the mail was a bout going out it is very warm here to day & pleasant
we lost our Col Stone he was killed ded [paper too dark] Col was wounded one or to Capts killed & all the rest wounded but one Capt White was wounded & getting a long well the boys names that ar wounde that you know D Hemmenway Maj Parker of Plymoth Bill Barrett Haword that Fellow that you see in Pettegrews store one day, Eb Pryor /
Prout is wounded & a missing so they say Grover is wounded in the arm & has had his arm ampertated I do not know whear he is I have not seen him that is what our boys say he will write to his wife about it we expect our men ar a pushing on to Richmond & we all feel incouraged about this think it is a going to mount to something yet good news in the paper to day I got to days paper this morning will send it to you
we have lost our Corps magar Gen Sedwrich he was killed last Friday his body was brought to Washington with us last eve he was a good Genral killed in our Co Orick Ward of Plymoth Batterfeald of Winhall Seneca Gleason of Mass he was in jamaica the time he in listed he was a vetran he was at home the same time I was this winter & a nother fellow that came out last fall by the name of Sweney
tell Byron that the to Beckwith was wounded slightly& Henry Peck of weston I cannot think of much more this time will close for now

Henry Howe was killed ded Savant Berd was wounded & will Howerd that is all this time
