I write A fiew lines to inform you that my health is vary good. now I have Ben gone three days on A march to jackson A Bout 15 miles to drive the Rebels Back genl wertsil Brigade went the Rebels dear not A tack ous tha Run we formd four lines of Batle. I tell you it lookt saveage to see the canons pointed & to see the caverly in line A Bout two thousand of them we staid at jackon one day & then Returnd Back to pourt Hudson we got Back last night whear the Balls & shells are still flying A Round one as tha did when I left. got your letter june the 25^th / your letter was dated june the 3 I was glad to hear from you. I am soray that marting haves so mutch Bad luck I have not seen the Babys likeness yet I have not seen horis wood in four weeks I dont hear how he is tell Mrs. Coughflin that David is sick yet he thinks he will Be well A to Be with ous in A fiew days he is luckey to ceap out of the fight now I tell you

 

            Frank thear is four mounths pay Due me now if I git kild you must git it & not fail git Every cent that is due me from govement dont let them cheat you out of it / I no more time to write good By to you all fair well we have got A hard Batle to fight yet it will Be desided in A fiew days we cant tell who will fall in the Batle
