Mary Holmes
Mary Holmes was born around 1842 in New York to Asa and Eliza Holmes. Her father was a farmer. She grew up and attended school in Oxford, New York. She married Martin Van Buren Bartle around 1862, and they had at least two children: Elroy, born around 1863; and Warren, born around 1868. They lived in Oxford, and her husband worked as a farmer. She died in 1890.
