                                                                                    Dear Cusen I take my pen in hand to let yow know that I am well at presant & hoping these few lines will find yow all enjoing the same helth but Lourestin I reseaved youre kind leter & was glad to hear from yow but Lurestin yowre letter sed that web Folger & bent Barnes was took for fiting but I exspeckd that when we go to Columbus to be discarged that thay will be in the penitenery but if they had a come to war when Owen did thay woodant bin laying a round Barnesville but they had beter come but now they are in a Snap & cant get out but old peat EnsLuinger out to be strung up by the neck / but lurestin old Peat was hear we wood take him down to old Buckner & give him a job of tending to old Buckners hos for he wood just soot sich peoples as him but Lurestin the other day thare was 4 of the Rebles kild 4 Beaves & oure men capturd the men & beaves but Lurestin tell Uncel William that I am a going to send him 15 or 20 dolars when owen gets paid off to & we will send oure money to gether but we will send hit in a letter but we dont suppose that we ever will go eney futher down South but the first thing that will be done I think of the pearnce of things that all of the Rebles that is down hear / will be taking prisners but Lurestin when you write to me tell me all the news thare but I dont think that there will be much fiting in Kentuckey for the Rebles is inlisting for 2 monthes but I dont think that there will be much more fiting for the war is a bout ove but that is all at presant write soone but the wether is nice here they aint bin eney snow hardley en here but tell me how the wether is there & tell me ho is working in the mo Shean Shop & tell me ho is working in the Blacksmith Shop but tell Baley Ellis that owen wants him and Isaac Pery to write to him /
