Dear wife and chidron I am wall at presant and in camp I am in no danger hear. I doant want you to worry about me. I will take care of myself as long as i can. We liv on crackers. sop. bred. pork. Beaf. Beans Rise and coffey. Steaven merrit Tommas Lister is unwall. I reseived your leter yestarday for the first I was verry hapey to larn that you ware all wall. I did not rite to hav you pay John Runels I paid him $20 when was in meadvile. I sent $25 by Wr Shipens. when i got her I sent my bounty order to J. R. /
 
I think if you can sel the cowes at a good advantage you had beter doit. The to yearoles hafers sel for all you can get I want you to manage the affares the best you can you had beter dig the potatoes as soon as it will do poot plenty of straw on tham If you cood get some parson to draw of the stones of potatoes ground the corn and buckwhet ground and plow the ground the fall wood lik it vrry much That is all iwal
