Eva Carpenter was born on August 8, 1853, in Pennsylvania to Riley Carpenter and Lovicy Pratt. His father was a farmer who owned $3,000 of real estate and $600 of personal property by 1860. She married Wayne Wilson around 1878, and they had at least five children: Maud, born around 1880; Mable, born around 1883; Miriam, born around 1884; George, born around 1888; and Louisa, born around 1892.
They lived in Blooming Valley, Pennsylvania, and her husband worked as a farmer. By 1900, they were living in Foster, Pennsylvania, and her husband was working as a laborer on an oil well. They moved to Carrollton, New York, in the early 1900s. Her husband died around 1918, and by 1920, she was living with her son George in Carrollton. She settled in Bradford, Pennsylvania, in the 1920s, and she died of apoplexy there on July 28, 1929.
