Dear children I now pick up my pen to Answor your verry kind leters which we received some Time ago and to let you no we are All well At This time thanks be to the ruler of all things For his blessing Hopeing when these few lines Come to hand tha my find you All well and Doing well I have not mutch to rite At this Time I would just say wheete harvest is over Hear cropes is verry lite some did not cut there Wheete it was not worth cuting not with Standing the faillure in the crop wheete is Lo ounly worth 70 to 75 cents per bushel Times is hard hear thare is no money to be had Thare can nothing be sold for money bacon is Worth fom 6 to 8 cents in grosers so you can see how times has aulterd since you left hear We will commens cuting oats tomorrow thare Will be A good crop of oats hear this year Corn is small tho it looks tolerbel well We will have plenty of frute hear this season Apels and peeche and black bures plenty we have commenst putting up black bures in cans that hold to pints and we intend putting up all we can And I have baut some peches and we will put Them up allso and if tha should be worth enny Thing out thare if I come out I will bring A lot of them with me to let the peopel have / But I can not now say whether I will be thare or not But I stil think I will be thare if nothing hapens and we all keepe well to day Wm Briton will Be bered at 4 oclock Martin Hubbards Mother Died the 2 day of Aprile Martin is Stil hear At worke for Andrew caubel And I dont Think he will ever go back to verginia Scot is not at home he is going to school We have not seen him for 5 weeks we got A Leter from him friday he was well and sais He is lerning verry fast and he sais he looks For A thrashing every day you would be pleased To see how he is lerning reading riting and Arithma tick I will now say to you I will have To turn my attention to some thing be side Blacksmithing for A living times are so hard Farmers cant pay for what worke tha want I have bin cuting wheete all threw harvest And will have to do the same threw oats and Hay harvest and then I no not what I will do Men hear ar offering to worke for ther board I will now say no more I want you to rite as soon As this comes to hand Mr Forders Famly is All well Albert is working at Cammels burg He sais he will rite no more til he hears fom you So fare well for this time hopeing to Remean you loveing parence until death

Now Jula A few words to you you said in your last you was well pleasd with the Cuntrey and the peopl and you had good friends Thare I hope you may stil retain those friends By being A good and obedent girl nothing in this world can do me more good then to hear your repititon is good and fare with the peopl whare ever your lot may be cast and I no you are With good friends now daughter these are the Words of your Affecanate father to you these May be the last words you may ever receiv from Me one who wishes you well we are seperrated and May never meete A gan in this world tho we hope we May yet spend menny happy days to geather now fare Well for this time rite soon your affecnate

Monday morning 8th yesterday we heard that Wm caubel and commadoar was badley hurte by Falling from A scaffol I Saw Albert this morning He sais Wm ne is badley brusd commadore has one Bone broke in his left arm near the elbo and the other out of place so tha will not be abel to worke For some time thar ware at cammels burge bilding A house for Doc Colyer Abert is now at home and Will be til the boys gits Abel to worke
