My dear brother and sister it is with the greatest of pleasure that i tak my pen in hand to write a few lines to you to in form you that we are all well except alice She has got a sore throat and ihope when these few lines comes to hand they will find you all well. well billie i must now tell you that [scratched through] granpap forder is dead. Emily Hubbard went to meeting last night and cut me out and there is meeting a gain to night and we are both a going So we will see who gets him well i must tell you that it is very cold to night well will i got one leter from Kentuckey but i wont tell who from well i must now come to a close for the preasant So fare well at preasant        Emily E Forder to S and W Forder

well Julia i must write a litle to you i guess when you writ to me then i will write more to you i was glad to find that you were maried to so fine a gentel as Mr Mack mullen ned puls we have got a plant we call a murt plant when you com to see us i will give you a plant it smells just like the esence of musk so i must come to a close fore the preasant so fare well     Emily E Forder to Julia A Mackmulen
