Dear Cousins
                        I this pleasant Sabbath day will undertake to address to you a few lines to inform you that we are all well at this time, and I hope and trust thes lines will find you all enjoying good helth and prosperity. the helth hear is tolerabel good considering the weather has bin so verry hot and dry, but night before last we had a splendid rain the most we have had at one time cince last Aprile this has bin a verry dry season in this part of the cuntry and a verry singearlly season there has bin frost in every month so far. we had a frost the 30 day of August to make ice it ript the corn blades and vines in places but has done but verry little damage in this neighborhood the corn crop is not so good as we jeneally have, but I think ther will be plenty to do this part of the cuntry, if nothing happens it yet it seames to be verry late I suppose it being so dry is the cause. the wheat crop is verry good oats and grass was verry lite. we have plenty of all kinds of fruit peaches is now ripe. I will now tell you something in regard to the times in this part of the world every thing bears a verry good price horse and cattel is high, stock hogs seames to be low, there is nothing said about porke hear yet, sheep bears a good price, wheat is worth about 95 cnts per bushel Corn 50 cnts per bushel Oats 40 cnts hay per ton $8, potatoes per bushel 75 cnts butter per pound 10 cnts eggs 7 cnts per dozen lard 9 cnts pr pound bacon 7 cnts pr pound chickens each 10 cnts, cornmeal pr bushel 60 cnts / them molasses of William Forders is solde William Adams got them he paid me for fifteen gallons I want Sarah to write to me how maney gallons ther was in the barrel as I have forgot he never took them away until June I want Sarah to tell me how to send hur the money by a common letter or by Express he paid me 40 cnts per gallon he told me that was the price you told him a greed on I will now come to a close as I am carce of somthing to write. We join as a familey in sending our best wishes to you all so good by for this time
