Dear sister Emley it thoug the Murses of a kind and murseful god that I attempt to write you a fue liens this good sabeth evning in anser to you kind a wecom letter wich I reseved in due time an was truley glad to hear you had reached home safe but was sorow to hear that you was so delad one your way you had a better got one the trane and come back to Campbellsburg and wated a wile longer and maba you wold had better luck the next time but hope you are well satesfide uth your new home and injoying your self fine and in good health with the rest of the famley this butful day finds I and children in joying good health and doing the very best that we can in our lonsum way of living we have gest returned home frome Church Mr Crutsinger preach or tride to I feel very sad and lonsum this evning but that is nothing strang fore me you noe I have not had a letter frome james fore too weaks and oh the time semes soe long to me the last one that was writen the 4 of last month and he was well then I got one frome Bill allsoe at the same time requesting me / to write to him and tell him all a bout his children and I have done as he said Evaline was at our hous last weak and tuck diner with us she is well and well satesfide with hur home she said that she has got a good home as ever was and the like hur very much and want to keepe hur till she mares I told them to keepe hur till Bill come home a gane well Emley Ann has moved to town she moved last Monday she lives in a part of Mimes hous she got a letter for from Peter a Monday and tha have started to the Rigement soe I hope that tha will all get a long now we have some mud yeat but not quite as much as we have had I recon you have noe mud out thare if you have not and need eney you cane gest come and get as much as you want fore we have plenty and to spare Oh yes I will tell you that John Gabbert and Will kees is gone to the armey a gane tha will stay this time fore tha have sent there close back and part of there money the get sevon hundred dolers fore a year oh Emley if I cold see you this evning I cold tell you more than I can write in a weak with this old pen fore it makes a mark like a stik and I dont expect you can read it what I write but if you cant gest come over and I will tell you what it is /
lavina is seting hear marking one the slate and sais that you never sent hur that shuger She has a pece to say at the exabishen and she wants you hear to heare them Charley has a pece to and so has Martha I guess that tha will have a nise time we went to Mr Crutsinger exabishen and I tell you it was a pore one Charley is gone out to uncle Charles to day I have ben out thare once sence you left hear James Rudder brot old dol home last thursday I have not got my corne yeat nore cant get it till the rods get better fore the mud is so deape that the horses has a big lode to hole a empty wagon well I will soon have to stope writing as I have nothing of importens write I want you all to write to me soon and often tell Mother and pap to write fore if we cant see each other we can talk with our pens fore that is the way I have to do all my talking with one that is Dear to me but hope the time is not fare distens when I will be permited to in joy his compney a gane one earth but if not hope to live so we will be permited to meete in a better world then this oh how I weash that pap and Mother cold step in this evning and set till bed time with me and littell children fore it wold be so much plasur to us but we cant have that plasur /

well jula I recon that you man has got home by this time I hope he has and you have hade a fue plesant day to geather a gane one this earth but hope you will boath remember me and come and see me be fore he goes back a gane you said you dident noe how you cold evear bare too see him goe back a gane oh I noe that will be a hard triel fore you but you must do the best you cane and think that the time wont be long till he will return home a gane to stay I want you to come this fare with him and james cane stope and see us be fore he leves a gane if you cant come I want Jim to be shore a stope aney how fore I want to see him. well sarah I have ben wating to get a letter frome you fore some time but guess it ant worth while to wate eney longer fore it dont apere like you ar a gointo write aney more I hope you have got the remanes of your Dear husban be fore this and are contented with you lot all thoe I noe it is very hard but we cant help it the lords will be don and not ours I feel very lonley and sad this evning but trusting in him whoe rules one hie that the time is not fare distent when I shal see my dear companion a gane in this life hoping to remane you lovend sister till death write soon and often one and all
