                                    The facts concerning the said Fohr, formerly serving under the name of Charles Schlimmer in this Battalion are the following:
 
            The said Charles Schlimmer, drowned on the embarkment of the Battalion at Morehead city.
 
In accordance with the 95th Article of War, the first Lieutenant Carsten Tiedemann and Louis Perligman have been designed to be present with the Commander of the Comp. 1st Lieut. Pierre Michon to take account of what effects he died possessed of etc etc, and according to paragraph 152 Article XVII of the Regulations for the Army, Inventories, final statements of pay etc etc required by the 95th Article of War, have been sent by the Commander of the Company to the Adjutant General. Besides, a letter has been written in german to the Prussian Consul in New York containing family papers, that could give some light on the identity of Charles Schlimmer or Fohr, and aid the consul to find out his heirs, recommending him in case he should have found them out, to apply for the inheritance to the Adjutant General at Washington, whom the accounts and requisite documents had been sent to. This letter was written by Sergeant Jacob Haan of Comp. I of this / Battalion, and signed by Adjut Koelman.
 
            Finally, all that concerns the said Charles Schlimmer, was done in accordance with the Regulations and the Articles of War, and nothing was neglected to find out his legal heirs.
