Dear sister
I seat my self to to drop you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope these few lines will find you all enjoying the same health I received a letter from you the other day and was glad to hear you was well I have nothing much to write for there is not much to write a bout. we are orderd to be ready to march at a moments warning I dont know where we are going and dont care much so I dont get hurt But we may not go for two or / three weeks for I am use to such work I would like to see you all very well But dont know when I will But old Gen'l Rosecrans is trying to get things fixed so some of the men can be absent on furloughs at a time and if he gets it fixed then I am going to try to get to come home then But none will get to come only them that is reccomended for there good behavior by there Officers and I think I will get to come for I have always done my duty as well as any body else
Now I will try come to a close by asking you to write / soon I cant think of any thing more and I will quit write soon No more at present Marion
