May 21st 65
Dear Ruth and children i write a few lines to you informing you that i am well except one of my eyes it is verry bad and painful. may these lines find you in good health
Tis Sunday and my thoughts do rome
From this cold orb of ours
To the selestial blissful home
Of never withering fadeing flowers
O theres no dark and clouded night
Scenes of pleaure ever bright
Happy thought by Jesus given
That we may soar away to heaven
to reap eternal joys on high
And never never breath a sigh /
But see our Jesus face to face
In that delightful happy place
And we must fit our soles to fly
Far beyond the deep blue sky
Whare from sin and sorrow free
And happy in eternity
Now my companion pray for me
That from sin i may be free
And improve the blessings given
And meet to part no more in heaven
And my children live to god
And obay his holy word
And your lives will happy be
Hear and in eternity
So good by for today
Ill wite some more tomorrow
Well drive the thornes far away
And banish forever sorrow
