Dear Wife
It is with pleasure that I now seat myself to write a few lines to you to let you know how I am getting along we have some fun and some trouble but nothing very serious my health is very good except a bad cold I have not got my uniform yet but I shall probably get it the evening so that I can wear it to church tomorrow as I intend to go to the Cathedral in the morning last evening was the first dres parade we have had since I have been in camp and the company is just returning while I am writing these lines the reason of my not being with them is that I am on guard duty to day Captain Mansfield was here day before yestarday he says they are all well I have just received your letter and am glad to learn that you are all well and as to my comeing home I shall probably be to Pardeeville next saturday about five oclock in the morning some ten of the boys are on Furlough now but I thought I would wait until next week and get my pay and clothes It is now supper and I shall have to close hoping these few lines will find you in the enjoyment of heavens best blessings I send my best love to you and sis and my respects to all friends
